The President said, in particular, in his message: “Your conference, which has brought together prominent politicians, scholars, and public figures, is devoted to an important historical date – the 100th anniversary of the start of World War I. This global conflict was a tragedy for all of humanity, took millions of lives, radically changed the European continent’s political map, and caused immense economic losses.

The situation in Libya continues to worsen. The latest armed confrontations between opposing groups in Tripoli and Benghazi are growing into a large-scale civil conflict. According to Libyan government sources, during the two weeks of military action over 150 people died and hundreds were wounded in these cities. There were many civilians among the casualties.
