On Russo-British Chamber of Commerce Business Forum in London
On 28-29 May 2012 Russian Ambassador Alexander Yakovenko took part in the annual Russo-British Chamber of Commerce (RBCC) Business Forum subtitled “Russo-British Relations – Strengthened by Business”. Ambassador Yakovenko stressed the stabilising role of trade and investment co-operation for bilateral relations, noted the positive dynamics of our economic interaction, identified the priorities for joint work in order to enhance the dialogue.
The Forum’s participants were also addressed by RBCC Patron HRH Prince Michael of Kent, Lord Mayor of the City of London David Wooton, British Ambassador to Russia Tim Barrow, Parliamentary Under-Secretary for Business, Innovation and Skills Baroness Wilcox and others. Among the speakers were senior representatives of largest Russian, UK and international companies and banks, including Vnesheconombank, VTB Capital, JSC Sistema, Skolkovo Foundation, Nord Stream, BP, Populous, Tensar, TheCityUK and others.
The discussions were focused on issues like the dynamics of Russian economy and its legislation, British assistance in the work to create the Moscow International Financial Centre, business opportunities and success stories in Russian regions, including in the context of public-private partnerships developments.
At the event Ambassador Yakovenko presented RBCC President Tim Eggar with the Russian Foreign Ministry Award “Contribution to International Co-operation” for his personal active participation in the enhancement of Russian-British business co-operation.
On 5-6 June 2013, the 18th Ministerial Session of the Council of Baltic Sea States (CBSS) will take place at the «Yantar» State Residence in the Pionersky town, the Kaliningrad region.

The draft federal law On Introducing Amendments to the Federal Law On Exiting and Entering the Russian Federation has been developed by the Federal Migration Service following the President’s Executive Order No. 1709 of December 29, 2012, On the Passport of a Citizen of the Russian Federation as an Identity Document Beyond the Borders of the Russian Federation with an Electronic Chip Carrying Additional Biometric Information, as well as the Instruction of the Government of January 18, 2013.
A meeting of the Business 20 Organizing Committee on preparations for the G20 Business Summit, to be held as part of the St.Petersburg International Economic Forum on June 20-21, 2013, took place at the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the United Kingdom. Russia was represented at the meeting by the President of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP) and Chief of the Business 20 for the period of the Russian Presidency Alexander Shokhin.
On May 21, London hosted a round table on private investment in infrastructure projects organized by the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). Kirill Dmitriyev, RDIF CEO and Co-Chair of the Business 20 Investment and Infrastructure Taskforce, and Thomas Maier, EBRD Managing Director for Infrastructure, moderated the discussion.
