Irish citizens in the UK need a residence document for Russian visa application

We would like to remind you that in accordance with the current rules of entry to the Russian Federationall non-UK citizens applying for a visa to Russia need a residence permit or another Home Office document, confirming the right of permanent residence in the UK.

All EU citizens, including the Irish, can show a printed version from the Home Office website confirming their settled or pre-settled status. This printout should be certified by a British notary/solicitor or by the Russian Consulate.

Although Ireland have single immigration space together with the UK, it is still a separate country and the same travel rules to Russia apply to Irish citizens. Moreover, it has been confirmed by the Home Office that Irish nationals, as well as other EU nationals, can apply for a settled or pre-settled status, even though they do not need it for residence purposes.
