CONSULAR SECTION INFORMS

Transit flights from the UK to Russia

According to the decision of the Government of the Russian Federation, dated 23 October 2021 N 3003-р, the list of countries, from which it is possible to travel to Russia, has been extended. The Netherlands are now part of this list. UK citizens and foreign citizens, who live in the UK with a residence document, currently can travel to Russia transiting the Dutch capital with any kind of Russian visa, including tourist, business etc. Before, transit from London to Moscow via Amsterdam was limited to certain types of visa.

However, taking into account that different airlines and transit countries may have their own rules, our advice is to check the transit flight in advance in order not to have an unpleasant surprise during check-in in London.
