On the briefing “Syrian humanitarian case: eyewitnesses report” by the President of the Foundation for the Study of Democracy Dr Maxim Grigoriev

On 1 May the President of the Foundation for the Study of Democracy Dr Maxim Grigoriev will hold a briefing in London on the topic “Syrian humanitarian case: eyewitnesses report”.

Mr Grigoriev plans to share his experience from visiting Syria, where he had the opportunity to speak with the local population, including those living on the territory controlled by the armed militants, and provide an update on the humanitarian situation in the country. Both Russian and British experts on Syria plan to participate in the debate. Representatives of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, the Parliament and members of the diplomatic community in London have also been invited to the briefing.

Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with Prime Minister of Great Britain Boris Johnson. The President of Russia and the Prime Minister of Great Britain exchanged greetings on the 75th anniversary of Victory over Nazism, which became one of the greatest events of the 20th century and an example of unprecedented cooperation between the countries of the anti-Hitler coalition. Vladimir Putin noted in part that Russia remembers the exploits of the British sailors, participants in the Arctic convoys, owing to which the Soviet army and industry received arms and equipment needed during the war.
