KANTEMIR ANTIOKH DMITRIEVICH


Ambassador to the United Kingdom - 1731-1738.

Years of life 1708-1744.

In 1723 together with the father he participated in the Persian campaign of Peter I.

In December, 1731 the lieutenant of guards A.D.Kantemir became the Minister resident to Great Britain. He had to carry on negotiations for recognition of the imperial title for Russian sovereigns by the English government and appointment of an English representative to Russia.The Russian diplomat took active part in the conclusion of the trade treaty of 1734 with England.

In April, 1738 Kantemir was appointed envoy to France.

He died in 1744 in Paris.
