MINISTER COUNSELLOR OF THE EMBASSY OF RUSSIA TO GREAT BRITAIN

Alexander Kramarenko

Born in 1952. In 1974 graduated from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations and entered the diplomatic service. Occupied various positions in the Foreign Ministry headquarters and diplomatic missions abroad.

1992-1996 – Russian Embassy in Ottawa, Counsellor.

1996-1999 – Department of North America, Head of Division, Deputy Director.

1999-2004 – Russian Embassy in London, Minister Counsellor.

2004-2011 – Policy Panning Department, Deputy Director, then Director.

Since 2006 – a member of the MFA College. At the time of his directorship of the Department, which is the analytical center of the MFA, the first (in contemporary Russia’s history) Foreign Policy Review was conducted and a new edition was developed for the Foreign Policy Concept, that was approved by President D.Medvedev in July, 2008.

Since July 2011 – Minister Counsellor of the Embassy of Russia to Great Britain.

Mr. Kramarenko has a diplomatic rank of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary. Speaks English and French.

Member, the Council on Foreign and Defense Policy (Moscow).

Married (Marina), four daughters.
