Ambassador to the United Kingdom - 1710-1712.

Years of life - 1676-1727.

In 1710 he concluded the allied convention with the Hanover Prince Elector, future English king. The same year he was appointed to London as the Minister Plenipotentiary.

In 1712-1714 – the Ambassador to the Netherlands. Accompanied Peter I to Paris during the negotiations about the union with France and took part in the conclusion of the Amsterdam treaty (1717) with France and Prussia.

In 1722 during the Persian campaign of Peter I, presided at all representations of Russia abroad.

In 1724-1727 – Ambassador to France.
