About Russian Consul General in Edinburgh Mr Andrey A.Pritsepov visit to manufacturing facilities of Terex Trucks in Motherwell

On 1st February 2017, the Russian Consul General in Edinburgh Mr Andrey A.Pritsepov has visited the haulers and dump trucks manufacturing facilities of Terex Trucks. At the working meeting with the General Manager of Terex Trucks Mr Paul Douglas, the prospects of cooperation with Russian partners and further development of company’s business in Russia have been explored.
While visiting the manufacturing facilities of Terex Trucks the Consul General has had an opportunity to see the use of advanced technology and experience the quality of newly manufactured trucks, designed for Russian companies.
"Terex Trucks" belatedly entered the Russian market only in 2003. Currently, more than 220 Terex’s trucks are being employed in Russia. Last year the Scottish company signed 22 contracts worth 8.5 mln GBP with Russian partners.
In 2014, Terex Trucks became a part of the Construction Equipment Division of Volvo Group - one of the world's leading manufacturers of heavy equipment. Under this deal, Terex Trucks remains an independent company, and its brand will continue to be used on its products.
Ferronordic Machines is the official dealer of Terex Trucks in Russia and provides after-sales service of the company’s fleet.
Being Scotland’s largest manufacturer of dump trucks, Terex Trucks is also an integrated business, specializing in engineering development, design, production of finished products, customers support, as well as complete after-sales maintenance of the vehicles.
90% of trucks manufactured in Motherwell are sold outside Europe. Terex’s dump trucks having the fuel-efficient engine and reliable transmission have proved themselves in the harsh climatic conditions and terrain.

Ambassador Alexander Yakovenko’s remarks at the Defender of the Fatherland Day reception, 27 February 2018

Your Excellencies, Military Attachés, Ladies and Gentlemen, Today it gives me a great pleasure to welcome you all at this reception. We celebrate the Day of the Russian Armed Forces – probably the most cost-effective military organization on this planet. At least that's what I see from the figures published by the very respectful IISS institution – Russia spends 46 bln. US dollars on defence, whereas UK – 52 bln. dollars, USA – an amazing 600+ bln. and all NATO countries combined – more than 1 trillion dollars. And still even with this absolutely disproportional defence spending Russia manages to maintain an Army which effectively fights terrorism in Syria, protects our borders and sovereignty at home.
